Yesterday, Samsung released a teaser on their official YouTube channel with the title “The Camera. Reimagined.” The description below the video is saying “On 02.25.2018, forget everything you know about the camera.” You can watch the teaser on the link here. It seems it is about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 phone. The video starts with Samsung camera lens, probably symbolizing the past technology. May be that is how they saw the interchangeable lens camera business and that’s why they quit the market.

I see Samsung’s new strategy in concentrating on mobile devices and their cameras. In the last few months Apple’s iPhone, Google’s Pixel2 and even Huawei phones jumped ahead, so Samsung need to step up and get back in the game with the new Galaxy S9 camera.

The announcement will be on February 25, 2018.
