Yesterday many people received email from B&H Photo Video that the New York Superstore have to start charging Sales tax starting from May 7, 2019. Nearly one year ago, the Supreme Court ruled that out-of-state retailers must collect sales tax on internet sales. B&H already charge sales tax for few states, like New York and New Jersey. Now the list is getting bigger, as it is not yet confirmed if all states will have to pay sales tax, or there will still be exclusions.

On April 10 Sony released firmware version 3.0 for the Sony α7R III and α7 III. The update gives α7R III and α7 III users new AF capabilities as well as an advanced built-in intervalometer for time lapse.

Interval Shooting

This new software adds a built-in interval timer, enabling photographers to easily capture and create time-lapse movies. The new feature can be set for anywhere between 1 and 60 seconds, with a total number of shots from 1 to 9999. AE tracking sensitivity is available to be adjusted to “High”, “Mid” or “Low” in order to reduce changes in exposure. Sony also added a playback function that allows you to actually get an in-camera playback of the time lapse instantly.

On March 19 Sony Electronics Inc. announced new leadership changes to its imaging and professional business. Neal Manowitz, prior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, was promoted to the position of deputy president, Imaging Products and Solutions – Americas (IPSA) business unit.

Manowitz, whose prior leadership helped Sony rise to No. 1 in the Mirrorless and Full Frame camera markets, will now oversee the company’s imaging and professional products and solutions portfolio.
